Responsibilities

The Controller will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s accounting and finance functions, including oversight of both passenger and freight operations.  This unique role provides the opportunity to join a fast-moving organization where no two days are the same and your work helps create unforgettable experiences for visitors from around the world. 

 

The Controller position is ideal for a detail-driven professional who thrives on both strategic oversight and day-to-day execution. You’ll be responsible for all core accounting functions, including A/R, A/P, payroll, month-end and year-end close, budgeting, and financial reporting. While serving as the primary liaison with banks, credit card processors, benefit providers, and CPA firms.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred), with at least five (5) years of progressive accounting experience, including being part of a leadership team. You should have a solid understanding of GAAP, internal controls and accounting software.  A tech-savvy, process-improvement mindset and the ability to quickly learn new technology is key.  Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are essential.  You’ll have full ownership of all accounting functions, including hands-on daily tasks like data entry, reconciliations, and payroll. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves. You will BE the accounting department, so a desire to handle the day-to-day functions as a solo practitioner is crucial.

 

This position requires working on-site at the depot office in Clarkdale a minimum of 3 days per week.  A commute from Clarkdale, Prescott, and Sedona is ideal.  Controllers from Phoenix and/or Flagstaff willing to commute to Clarkdale are encouraged to apply.
