This position emphasizes project and multi-entity accounting in a construction environment, supporting job setup, job lists, and accurate tracking of project activity and construction-related costs. You will assist with job cost and project development accounting (including tracking and recording soft costs), provide light bookkeeping support for related entities (such as rental invoicing and deposits), and help maintain clean reconciliations and documentation. In addition, you will cross-train as backup for items like excise tax and prevailing wage reporting and jump in on miscellaneous accounting tasks and reporting support as needed to keep operations moving smoothly.
The successful candidate will have at least an Associate’s degree in accounting. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, along with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant accounting experience. Experience in a construction environment is preferred, as well as a solid understanding of the full‑cycle accounting process; direct payroll experience is not required. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills, and applies logical and analytical thinking when reviewing financial information. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with frequent use of spreadsheets, is required, along with experience using Microsoft Word; prior experience with accounting software is preferred.
